Stripes and glass lamp

The client requested a creative and imaginative use of fabric for the curtains and roman blinds – a solution that could not be bought off the shelf. The design objective was to bring the kitchen, dining and utility areas together, with emphasis on clean, modern lines. The curtain colours were chosen to match a hand-made glass light fitting – plum, sky blue, mustard yellow and scarlet. with one of the four curtain colours used. The curtains were hung from a white pole and made from twenty-seven strips, rotating the four colours in sequence. There was a narrow white fabric pleat between each one. Each of the four roman blinds was white with one of the four curtain colours used as a border across the bottom.
